Description
Bears attack by rending opponents with their claws, dragging them in and biting them. A bear's hug attack is resolved as given in the individual entry. All bears are very tough to kill, and are able to move and attack for one round after losing all hit points.
These monstrous bears are even larger than brown bears, with one weighing up to 1,800 pounds and when on all four feet are up to six feet high at the shoulder. They are ferocious killers, attacking almost anything of equal or smaller size.
On a natural 19-20 with a claw attack, a cave bear catches the victim in a hug for 2d8 extra damage. All bears are very tough to kill, and are able to move and attack for one round after losing all hit points.
